Dr. Robert Odunga (PhD)

Robert Odunga is a Kenyan who is currently a senior lecturer of accounting and finance in the school of Business and Economics at Moi University, Nairobi Campus (Kenya). He is also the graduate studies coordinator for the school at the Nairobi Campus. Before joining Moi University, Robert worked as a senior accountant at University of Nairobi and as an auditor with Kenya National Audit Office (KENAO). He holds a PhD in Business Management (Finance), Moi University, Master of Business Administration (Finance) and Bachelor of Arts Education (Business Studies and Economics) both from University of Nairobi (Kenya). He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya and a member of a professional body, Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). At the same time, he is a certified online trainer with Quality Matters (QM) Program Organization, Maryland Online, Inc. USA. His credentials are verified and authenticated by World Education Services (WES) New York, U.S.A.

Robert is a thoroughly knowledgeable and professional consultant and trainer with extensive experience in the field of finance, accounting and research. He has supervised and examined several projects and theses in the university, both internally and externally. He has written and co- authored well over 30 publications in reputable research journals. He is an established trainer and a consultant in various institutions of higher learning in Kenya and beyond. He has trained at Kenya School of Revenue Administration (KRA), Kenya School of Monetary Studies, East Africa School of Aviation (Kenya), and National Aviation College (Ethiopia), University of Tennessee Chattanooga (USA), Kigali Institute of Management (Rwanda) among other institutions. Notwithstanding, he has also worked as a consultant trainer with Indepth Research Services (IRES) where he trained senior staff of ministry of Finance (Gambia) on Programme Based Budgeting (PBB). He has also worked as a lead consultant on curriculum development for Bachelor of Business Education (BSE) program at KIM, (Kigali), a consultant coordinator, graduate studies at Plasma University (Somali) among other consultancy services.
Besides being a knowledgeable and experienced professional consultant and trainer, Robert has the capacity to make individual client assessments, to evaluate various available options and create personal reports offering the client different options. He has proven ability to select appropriate models and tools for analysis particularly in matters of financial management and investment decision making. He is a team player and has competent administrative skills that has seen him appointed to serve the society in several capacities, as a returning officer in the national general elections of Kenya, as patron of his church parish youth group , as returning officer MUSO student elections and as a coordinator among other responsibilities. Robert is a trust worth person as he
has been elected to serve as treasurer in many associations and welfares that he belong to. He is a family man, God fearing, married in church and blessed with four children.
